Lume Friction Folder

This is a friction folder that my friend Lume asked to me.
Something looking like a Santoku shape but sturdy and about 9cm (3,6″) in D2 tool steel. Thick enough 4mm (.157″) about to make any tasks.

With handmade denim sheat.

Work In Progress – Two New Friction Folders Update #3

Oh yes!
My friends allover the world will be happy to see these new updates. They are both D2 friction folder knives, similar but very different in substance. Notice the grind: one is full flat, the other smaller is a classic user with a small swedge to improve penetration without affecting great cutting abilities.

Here it’s megrinding a folder blade.
Without any use of jigs or whatever.

The position of my shoulder could be better… I need a better chair of the right height I suppose!

And this is the result. A clean and crisp “first grind” of the blade.

Work In Progress – Friction Folders Coming Soon #2

From time to time there’s some picture showing what I’m doing.
Of course here you can find some updates on the friction folders that are coming soon.

In this picture you can see that the steels has bee flat grounded, shaped, and edge line is done.

Moreover the handles are close to the final shape, spacers are grinded and they are awaiting to make the grinds.

The last one will be one of mine, I hope. A small 2,5cm(1″) blade for a watchpocket friction folder.
Tiny and precious it is made in RWL34!

BruFen Friction Folder

Here another custom order made under design of my friend BruFen. You can see all the work in progress on another side of this forum.

Handles in ghost-jade G11, thick and sculpted, very comfortable.
Blade is in D2 3mm (1/8″) thick steel, 8,5cm (3.4″) edge almost mirror polished with convex edge.
Overall about 18cm (7.1″) .

Echo-7 Friction Folder

I hope that my friend mike will be not disappointed of this tool. It’s long wait but I really think that it worts all the time spent.It is a real pleasure to show its friction folder, made under Mike specs.

7,5cm D2 almost mirror sharp blade (about 3″), 9cm Orange G10 handles for full grip comfort.
Stainless fittings and a thong hole.

Work In Progress – BruFen Friction Folder

This is still a work in progress.
The shape of this knife has been made by following the customer directions with some slightly modifications by me. Also this time it will be a nice D2 friction folder. About 8,5cm (3-1/2″) of blade, a nice medium sized user!

Very cutting power!
Jade-Ghost G11 for handles, a very elegant choice!

Now the latest progress.

Work In Progress – Mike Friction Folder

This is a friction folder that a friend of mine from USA asked to me.
A nice cutting blade of about 3″ (7,5cm) with orange handles. Thin in thickness and an hikonogami shape. Recessed screws and a thong hole. Here it is my friend!

Sorry Mike but is very hot in these days around here…

Highly figured olive burl AAAAA grade will be posed on these small but stunning knives in O2.

Big Finger #01 Friction Folder

From a specifical request of one big friction folder.
Sturdy reliable. Very usable at least.
Big Finger #01

O2 steel, 3,5mm thick, high satin finish and waxed with ProTech Wax. 10,5cm (approx 4″ blade) hardened to approx 58 HRC.
Red G10,inox liners and hardware. Length about 13,5 ccm (5″ approx).
