This is the nessmuk that I love best. It is made from luthiery grade striped maple that we use for tops in guitars, violins and basses. The handles are only slightly coloured and than oiled. The results are in my humble opinion not in this pictures rendering very well.
It is a great cutter can do a lot of task, from food processing to camp activities in a flash. It’s a great utility knife.

And theyr contoured handles are really fitting like a glove in the hand. It is my lovely preferite shape of handles and I think i will do more like this. It’s like disappearing in the hand and who works with knives knows how much is valuable this feeling.

It sports a 120mm (4.7″) 3mm (.118″) D2 carbon steel tempered for high resistance in cutting rather than wear resistance. Scandi to zero grind. Handles are in this gorgeous Slovenian Striped Maple(it looks like 3D!) and are about 110mm (4.3″) with sturdy brass Corby bolts and red spacers.

An handmade sheat is next coming, the one in picture is made by a friend of mine but it is a bare blade protection not a sheat.

Hope you will like it.

This is the nessmuk that I love best. It is made from luthiery grade striped maple that we use for tops in guitars, violins and basses. I think it is a great workhorse or a great utility knife.

Okay, there are two fixed blades showing something I’d like to make since some time.Jigged blades over a strong and nice hard wood.

Something precious, for sure they will sport a lot of precious details: unique patterns of jigged blade, pau ferro (a very strong purple wood, also called purpleheart), brass mosaic pins, custom hand stitched leather sheat.

They are utilities, with about 8cm () 4mm (.160″) o2 carbon steel blade with my leaf shaped idea.

The flats, I like so much this kind of jigging. It’s beautiful, it’s unnique and most of all is relaxing. Like scratching when phjoning!

Cheers!

Not every work I do in my shop I share on my blog.
Bacause of time, because I love to deserve some surprise to my friends, becasue this is the way!
This time here two new blades.
Serious full flat fixed blades born for people who loves hunting and who loves to have a serious camp tool.

They are made from 1095 sporting a great hamon, a bullnose point. The other on the right is made from O2 carbon steel and it is a classic hunter drop point.
Thicknesses are about 5mm (0.20″) and with a tapering to the point so also to have the right cutting abilities.

Notice the black hamon and the deep balck made with acid.

Brass lanyard hole and pins.
Very useful in light tasks or where a cutting power is needed.
It sports a 6cm (2,2″) balde and 7,5cm(3″) handle. Very compact yet very sharp.

I used this a lot for cutting the leather, and it cuts also stiff leather as butter.

The text:
Back in July I had the fortune to buy a set of three small utilities from Mostho.
The blades vary in length from 5cm to 7,5 cm so these are not big knives by any stretch of the imagination.
When I got them and spent some time trying them out, I took an immediate liking to the middle brother.
Stefano made these out of O2 with brass fittings, red liners and beautiful 300 plus years old olive burl.

It does a great job in the kitchen. The high arch makes for great knuckle clearance and it loves to chop and slice.
The butt is perfectly flat and works a treat for cracking pepper and garlic cloves.
Another point of satisfaction is the ease with which the edge is kept sharp.
I am sure I will find equal qualities in its bigger and smaller brother, but for now this one has scored high marks.
Comes in a nicely made, tight fitting belt sheath. So at some point it will undoubtedly get a taste of the outdoors.
