Yes. These are something beauty that I wish to do since a long time. They will be very attractive yet strong, different and unique. More? They will sport nice wood handles and handmade mosaic pins… more? They are compact and rugged, made in excellent O2 carbon steel and will be heat treated something more harder than usual.

And this is almost the final grind…

Two Nessmuks in Striped Maple

These are two lovely knives made with love. I was really fascinated in reading Sears and about the nessmuk. I totally agree with that philosophy for a knife that should do so much tasks in a fashionable way and it does not seems like a weapon or making you a robbery expert.

These are my two nessmuks. The first is a from top is made from a lightly coloured striped maple.
More details on these cute cutters will follow!

Maroon Belt Knife

Hello this is another job that I like a lot. It’s ready to ship over the pond for a very nice project.
Blade is D2 3mm (.118″) thick and 105mm (4″) long. Heat treated by me to 58-59 HRC.
Scandi to zero grind, convex microedge. Very sharp.
Handle is my laminate of wenge, curly maple and pink ivory, sculpted and polished like horn. Brass hardware.

Vegetal tanned leather hand stitched by me, loop for vertical and horizontal carry.

New fixed knives are coming 23/11/2010

This is the picture of whats boiling in the pan.
It’s time to do also some fixed knives too.

Those will be some mini-bowies in 1095 carbon steel and a nice hamon.
Pluse they will sport higly figured wooden handles, steel and brass guard and more.

One of these two knives will be sent to USA for a Knife Exchange. So it will be a knife challenge!

Work In Progress – New Fixed Blades

Here there are the next fixed blades in progress.
Two of them are for a customer, he need to choose from the black camp knife and the classical Hunting knife in Teak.

The others are my personal design of nessmuks! They sports gorgeous handles, nice steels and soon a great leather sheat.

And all the two nessmuks have stunning AAA Tiger Maple Luthiery Grade handles. Made of the same wood where here in the lab my brother-in-law make violins and other instruments.
This one is made by D2 Steel, scary sharp.

One Nessie is almost done, the other is on the way for finishing.

My favourite knife

Here it is…

One of my first knife, a small kiridashi that I use daily for several, thousands little tasks (from open boxes to scraping or glue removing, etc.)
Hand made with Iroko handles, O2 carbon steel with fair hig hardness. Small! A small over 1/2″ blade (1,5cm) and 2,5″ (6.5cm) long. But how I love it!

Some old and new projects are coming soon. In various steels, all are made for performance in cutting with an high grade in beautiness in mind using the finest woods on the market, luthiery grade woods.

Two nessmucks with gorgeous handles and a nice two utilities.

Work In Progress – Fixed Blades – Update #3

Of course, if it’s not that simple it’s not for me. Here some glueing about this batch of smaller blades. Working with wild olive burl is very difficult as well the glueing, the finishing and so forth! This utilities and neckers are very funny and well protected. I’m sure that every user will have great fun with this as they will cut as hell!

But is good what is worth to try and surely they will be great knives.

Ovangkol in Kitchen

Hello guys,
a kitchen knife made for a friend.
Made on it’s own hand.
Steel is 12C27 3mm thick, 17cm blade, 13cm handle.
Brass corbys.
Brown Bison chrome tanned leather, hand stitched, just to have a case.

I think is a very focused knife. As I try to do always.
Hope you will like it!

A mortized tang knife made by an old file, Padouk handles, brass guard. Also some mosaci pins for beauty and for strength.

Blade is 12cm long, 23cm overall.

It took me quite a long time but it is a lovely piece.
