Lamy Safari Fountain Pen Swap

Lamy Safari Fountain Pen Swap

I’d like to make a Lamy Safari Fountain Pen Swap. So I rarely do a swap with something that I’m really addicted like my Lamy Safari fountain pen… But also I know that swapping with something that you really love, although is difficult from an affection side, is more rewarding for the other side of the heart. Swapping something that you really love has more value than swapping that you feel unuseful and unused: I love recycling but this is to be considered friendship swap. I also love to receive packets, deliveries and parcels… 🙂

The swap works like that: I’d like to send to someone in the world this pen, complete with converter and filled.

I’d like to see comments on this swap below my post, from many friends about what do you like to swap with this pen or something like that.
Could be everything.
I mean everything, better is if it’s something art or craft related: obviously I prefer a colored pencil to a Teddy Bear or something like a used ink bottle rather your persian carpet!
It should be only something that catches my attention.
I will choose between all comments posted down this post so…
Be creative!
Tell me what you will swap with my pen, cross the finger and keep a happy sketching.
You also the lucky winner, if you can, send your swap free of charge.

Lamy Black 01

So this is the pen in the picture (notebook cover not included… but soon…): one of my lovely Lamy Safari fountain pens, the plain black one. The pen is always used by me but with love and care. Sports a F nib and it’s included the converter. The converter is filled with Noodler’s Lexington Grey.

Time will be over Sunday 31st of March. Then I will choose the lucky friend from all comments received, I will make a post here on the blog and I will send this pen to the lucky friend all over the world, free of charge of course. And I hope to make another post upon arrival of my parcel!

So please comment under this post what you want to swap with me and good luck!

  1. This is an awesome idea and unique way to connect with someone. i saw this post on Instagram and was instantly intrigued. Something you love is very hard to give up as you said and I began to think of something that has value to me in the same way. One of my friends fathers gave me a military bag about 7 years ago and I’ve used it ever since. My friend and I don’t talk anymore or if we do its rare but sometimes i remember where the bag came from and when it was given to me. Its the perfect size for a few sketchbooks, pens, pencils, brushes, paint etc. and that’s what I’ve always used it for. I comfortable to hold and throw over your shoulder. Easy access to all your tools and keeps everything organized. If you’re at all interested I’d be willing to swap with you. your pen would be given a new life in the states and my bag can travel with you wherever you go. Hope to hear from you.

  2. Hi
What a wonderful idea, I love it, and so very special to part with something special, something you love. You are one special person to think of it. I have been tempted to buy a Lamy Safari for a while, but was unsure if I could justify it.
I love to make sketchbooks, and could make you a very special sketchbook, with your choice of paper type, soft or hard cover, and choice of size and colour scheme. The cover would include some of my textile work. You can see my work at
    hope you get something wonderful

  3. Hei… I like your proposal… it sounds really fun and I also like to collect things. On the other hand, I was thinking of what I could give you instead.. something really different. Well… it came to my mind, that once I live Lapland (Northern Finland), I could send you one of my kuksas ( ). I have two and one of them hasn’t been used. It is a bit small, but you could fill it with coffee or tea and drink in your breaks between a drawing and another. The other thing is that it is valuable, just like your pen 🙂
It is THE thing to have with you when you go to a Lapland Safari, So we can swap “Safari” items 😉

    1. Hei… just wondering… I hope I didn’t sound stupid, offering you a cup. It’s just that you said “anything art or craft related”. I find you’ve got a beautiful idea, and I would love to get a pen which has lined so many beautiful drawings (guess it would inspire me!?). I can think of something else if you don’t care for a kuksa… but every artist needs a warm drink while enjoying its creation, doesn’t he? 🙂 . There´s a picture of what it looks like (photo by Kirsi Halkola):

(this thing is getting exciting!!! many nice offers)

  4. I have been dreaming if getting one of these pens ever since. I saw them but the 50.00 plus dollars is something I can not justify spending. Although I am sure it is worth it every penny. I cannot afford it now. I have books (drawing and sketching I could swap.

  5. Stefano, you are such a gem to give away a favorite thing! I don’t have anything worthy of such a trade… but what I will offer is a tiny watercolor set in a mint tin (which I think you’ve seen on my blog) filled with Winsor Newton paints. It will also have the Velcro/ruler attachment mechanism so you can clip it onto your sketchbook. And I’ll throw in a Stillman & Birn sketchbook, which I dearly love, but I can get them easily here, so it’s not exactly precious (but maybe it’s harder for you to get them). That’s all I have to offer — but at least it’s not a teddy bear. 😉

  6. I can’t believe I am the first to comment! I would love to swap with you. Your pen would have a special place in my heart. I have quite a few nice things I can swap as well. Count me in!

    1. I have an array of multi-sized and multi-formatted hand made sketchbooks – Coptic and accordion types – all with covers in made painted pastepaper. You can pick the sizes, formats and cover papers!!
